Pricing & Savings FAQ:
Do I need a coupon code for bulk discounts?
No. Our system is designed to do the math for you. As you add more plants to your cart, the price per plant will automatically drop once you hit the next savings tier.
Can I mix and match varieties to reach a higher tier?
No. The prices points are cultivar specific. We do not offer to mix any individual haskap varieties (Aurora, Borealis, Beast, Beauty, etc.) to reach a volume discount tier.
How do discounts work with Bundles?
Our curated Bundles (like the Family Garden Pack or the Grower Bundle) are already pre-discounted by 10–15%. Because they offer a deeper discount than individual plants, they do not count towards additional tiered pricing, but they represent the absolute best value on the site.

Description
Boreal Blizzard Haskap Plants:
- Largest Berries
- Superior Flavour
- Excellent Fruit Retention
Boreal Blizzard stands out among Haskap varieties with its exceptionally large berries, as illustrated by their impressive size next to a 3.5 cm wide spoon. Well-pollinated fruits often exceed 3 grams, making them some of the heaviest in the Haskap family.
Dr. Bob Bors from the University of Saskatchewan highlights that Boreal Blizzard produces berries more than twice the weight of Borealis, and nearly three times heavier than the largest varieties from a decade ago. Unlike many other varieties, which often have air pockets, Boreal Blizzard berries are dense, meaty, and heavy, offering a substantial bite that sets them apart.
Typically blooming and ripening slightly later than Honybee, and the Indigo series, Boreal Blizzard helps extend the Haskap harvesting season by one to two weeks, adding valuable time for growers. Though it occasionally blooms simultaneously with earlier varieties, its usual pattern ensures a staggered harvest, benefiting both commercial and home gardeners.
Companion Planting for Optimal Growth:
To ensure proper fruit set, Boreal Blizzard requires an unrelated companion plant. It pairs with Boreal Beast and Boreal Bliss. Most growers are planting at a 2:1 ratio, with two Boreal Blizzard plants for every companion plant. Research conducted in Quebec on various haskap varieties has shown that yields can be significantly higher when companion plants are placed in the same row for pollination purposes. When selecting companions for commercial purposes please feel free to call Curtis to discuss.
Features of Companion Cultivars:
- Boreal Beast: With a 4.5 out of 5 on the flavor scale for three consecutive years, Boreal Beast is celebrated for its superior flavor, best aroma, and improved berry retention.
- Boreal Bliss: Mid to late variety that works well with Boreal Beast and Boreal Blizzard.
- Please refer to our compatibility chart on our “favourite links” page for more companion options.
